This three-course certificate will hone students’ personal, academic, and workplace reading and thinking skills. More specifically, Jazz Up Your Reading Skills uses song lyrics to develop inferential reading skills. For the Love of Reading, uses children’s books and young adult literature to develop an appreciation of creative works, and Reading Between the Lines uses satirical, social, political and other persuasive texts and images to uncover hidden meaning and develop critical thinking skills.
