Welcome to Southwestern College and the 2023-24 academic year. We are so excited you have chosen Southwestern College to help you achieve your academic, career and personal goals. With campuses in Chula Vista, National City, San Ysidro, Otay Mesa and the Crown Cove Aquatic Center in Coronado, Southwestern College is your community college.

Each year we work to improve course offerings and programs/services to ensure you have clear pathways-support to achieve your goals. We offer classes in a variety of formats: in-person, online and hybrid modalities. From 7:00 a.m. into the evening, you can take credit, non-credit and career education classes. In addition, beginning in the fall 2023 semester, we will offer Saturday and Sunday courses at our National City Higher Education Center. If weekend courses prove to be in demand by our community, we will expand our weekend courses to all sites.

Our talented and committed faculty, classified professionals, and administrators are working to ensure your time at Southwestern College is fruitful and memorable. Through our SWC CARES program, our teams are always ready to support and assist you with issues that arise in your life. There are dozens of student clubs to help you develop and grow your interests. In addition, our student clubs are a wonderful way to connect with other students, faculty, and staff. Our student leaders continue to provide programming that builds a welcoming community on campus. Our counselors will help you find your individual path to the university, or career of your choice. One way to jump start your college-going experience is to make a counseling appointment today.

Want to transfer? Check out the Associate Degree for Transfer (ADT) program. Students earn guaranteed admission in the California State University (CSU) system by completing one of 30 different majors at Southwestern College. In addition, San Diego State University, National University, and Point Loma Nazarene University offer bachelor’s degree pathway programs at our Chula Vista campus. Southwestern College is an amazing option for students who want to complete their lower division coursework then transfer to a university, and at a fraction of the cost.
