Common Course Numbering
Common Course Numbering (CCN)
Beginning Fall 2025, California Community Colleges are required to assign the same course name and number to comparable courses across all California Community Colleges. The Common Course Numbering (CCN) system will support student transfer between institutions and help reduce the chance that students take courses they don't need. The CCN system will establish a structure that strengthens equitable transfer and student success.
Below are the new course names and numbers effective for the Fall 2025-2026 academic year. More course names and numbers will be changed in Fall 2026 and Fall 2027.
