The Web Search Engine Marketer program prepares students to work across industries. The curriculum is designed to provide the learner with industry best practices, strategies, and technical foundation necessary for entry level employment. Emphasizes development of  organic search engine results, defining and building keyword lists, strategies to enhance client engagement and conversions, optimizing links structures to maximize rankings, and Search Engine Optimization performance analysis to report trends and identify issues. Develops Search Engine Optimization industry software platform tools and web analytics skills. Students who successfully complete the program are eligible for entry-level employment as Search Engine Optimization Specialists, Digital Marketing Specialists and Internet Marketer Specialists in private industry and local or state government agencies.

Program Student Learning Outcomes

• Prepare a written proposal for search engine positioning strategies for a client website.
• Compile data from web search engine measurement tools and analyze data to formulate a search engine strategy presentation for a client website.
• Work with colleagues in a professional manner to produce a team website positioning project.
• Write a summary of research to identify the major search engines, the major strategies for visibility, and a before-and-after analysis of keyword testing.

Gainful Employment

The U.S. Department of Education requires colleges to disclose a variety of information for any financial aid eligible program that “prepares students for gainful employment in a recognized occupation.”

Students who complete this program will have acquired the necessary analytical tools to successfully secure gainful employment in the field of study.
