To enroll in the Automotive Technology Direct Assessment Competency-Based Education Associate in Science program (CBE02), students are required to submit the CCCApply application to declare the program as their intended program of study. Students are required to complete an online orientation and to meet with a SWC counselor prior to enrollment in the program. Upon completion of the program, students will receive a "competency transcript" listing all program competencies and the level of mastery earned for each. In addition, students will receive a traditional transcript indicating the credit courses deemed equivalent to the direct assessment program.

To earn this associate degree, students in the direct assessment, competency-based education program must complete additional general education and graduation requirements designed specifically for the competency-based education program.
